ChatGPT

ChatGPT’s flow has one extra step: custom connectors live behind Developer mode, on paid plans (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, Edu). Turn on Settings → Apps → Advanced settings → Developer mode — on a company workspace an admin has to allow custom connectors first. Then Settings → Connectors → Create: name it MAI, paste the same URL, and sign in when it asks.

Tip: give the connector a description like “my notes, meetings and tasks” — ChatGPT reads it when deciding whether to use the connector in a chat.

Lovable

Add MAI as a connector in your Lovable workspace with the same URL and approve the sign-in. The agent building your app can then read your specs, meetings and decisions while it works — the Build example above is exactly this.

Paste the same URL wherever the client asks for a remote MCP server. For scripts and anything that wants a token instead, generate one in the app — Settings → Claude Connectors on the Mac, Profile → Connect to Claude on iPhone.

Access is granted by signing in with your MAI account, and one click in the app cuts it off.
No delete tool exists
Two scopes exist — read and write_safe. The connector can create and update; deleting is reserved for you, in the app. Nothing broader is offered, so nothing broader can be granted.

What is MCP?
The Model Context Protocol — an open standard, introduced by Anthropic, that lets AI applications plug into outside tools and data. MAI implements it as a server: instead of pasting notes into a chat window, your AI queries your second brain directly and writes back into it.
What does agent-first mean?
Most note apps were built for a human reader and bolted an AI on later. MAI is built the other way round: everything you capture is structured so an agent can search it, cite it and write back to it. The MCP server is the front door, not a plugin.
Which AI apps can connect?
Any AI chat you prefer, as long as it speaks MCP. On claude.ai, MAI is listed in Claude's connector directory — find MAI Second Brain under Settings → Connectors and click Connect. Claude Desktop and Claude Code use the same one-URL sign-in. ChatGPT connects too — its custom connectors sit behind Developer mode on paid plans. Builders like Lovable, and scripts of your own, plug in with the same URL.
Can the AI delete or overwrite my notes?
No. The connector's writes are additive: it can create notes and tasks, append new sections and update task details, but no delete tool exists for it to call. What you captured stays as you said it.
Is my data private?
Every call is authenticated and scoped to your own account — the connector can only see the brain of the person who approved it. Access is logged, and you can revoke it in one click from the app.
Do I need a subscription?
MCP access is part of MAI Premium — the same gate as the in-app AI features. Every new account starts with 7 days of everything, so you can connect Claude before paying anything.
Do I need the app to use it?
The connector is the bridge, not the brain — the notes, meetings and tasks it serves are the ones you capture with MAI on iPhone, Apple Watch or Mac. Approving access just takes your account sign-in.
Why not just keep a markdown file for my AI?
Because you won't maintain it — a context file depends on typing, discipline and syncing, and it quietly becomes the note graveyard again. MAI removes all three: you talk, it structures, and every connected AI reads the same always-current brain. And when the AI learns something new, it writes back — a static file can't.
Why another subscription?
Because it makes the AI subscriptions you already pay for more valuable. Claude or ChatGPT without your context answers like a stranger; connected to MAI, the same subscription answers from your meetings, decisions and commitments. You're not buying another chat — you're upgrading the ones you have.
